| I'm a 26 year old student in the UK, studying microelectronics, i LOVE space, robots, science, lord of the rings, comupters, rockets, food, surfing, robot wars, beer, wine, spirits, technology, traffic cones, cars, robotics, my girlfriend (not in that order in case your reading this babe), music, sleeping, sitting, standing (but not crouching (bad for the knees)), hardware (not software except C , Java, Assembler), mum & dad and anyone else who knows me. |

I think that anyone who doesn't belive that there is life elsewhere in the cosmos, just hasn't thought about it for more than 1 second. Its pretty much infinite everything out there.
We will discover it when we have the appropriate technology to see/hear/visit other life.
How we do it is... well I'm working on it.
The benefits could be endless, new/clean/undiminishing power sources/methods, new building technology, its really only limited by ours ( and theirs) imaginations.
As for the danagers well anywhere from borgism (did I just invent a new term?) to only 8 planets orbiting the Sun, but hey at least we would know that there is somthing out there for a split second.
I think that we have been since TV broadcasts started if I'm not mistaken, as for the content, well its a bit late to be worrying about that now, lets hope that the life is intelligent enough to NOT jump in their spacecraft when the first pictures/radio gets to them, and that they wait abit to see whats going on with those crazy Earth people.
I run Seti because I want to know. The project needs more resources. |
