Personal background
I'm a grandfather of 5, father of 3, husband to a beautiful lady and companion to the best springer spaniel in the world (his picture). I'm a large project construction estimator for a carpentry contractor. I live in southeast Pennsylvania. I can't believe that I went from a 386 sx computer with 4 mb of ram (which cost $150.00) and a huge 20 mb hard drive; to the current unit Athlon 6000 dual processor with 4000 mb of ram and 750 GB hard drive. Ain't progress beautiful?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am amazed by the complexity of the universe. I am amazed by the variety and abundance of life on earth. I am amused by those arrogant people that think life must be limited to this planet. It makes sense that life, in some form, has happened in our solar system, galaxy and the universe and where there is life then intelligence is certainly possible. I think Seti@home and programs like it gives us an excellent chance to find out, by "intentional accident", that "intelligent" life exists. Just confirming that extra-terrestrial life exists is exciting for me.
