I'm just a college student who has a nice computer with a lot of downtime...
going for an engineering degree.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I believe that there is really any life out there... not realy, the sheer
unprobability of it is staggering, there MIGHT be some basic protiens or single
cell organisms but there are no where near enough habbitable plannets out there
for me to believe that the miricle of intelligent life happened twice...
I run Seti@home because I have a rather expensive little machine here and it
sits around doing nothing, I feel that running numbers for a research project
adds a bit of validity to it's justification for existance.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
