Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1)I am sure that there is more life than just the life here on earth, so extraterrestial life exists.
I think that we discover it within a few years, but it is also possible that it has been discovered already and that it is kept secret.
We will discover it through radio or light signals, but also it is well possible that we will be visited by aliens.
If we react in the same way as the Bush government against terrorism, we will be in war and that one we will lose. When we react on the old diplomatic way and less naieve I think we can build up a good relation.

2) Transmitting a beacon is a good idea. We should send, one way or the other, our location data, and pictures of men, animals, plants, cities, the sea etc.

3) I run Seti@home as a contribution to science, I think it is a very important project, because through good extraterrestial contacts we might be able to discover and explore the universe.
My suggestion is to give more results of the project to the people who run Seti@home, for instance a little message while exchanging data.
