If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn't turn out well for the native Americans. We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet.
1) Why do you run SETI@home?
A: If we're going to do something as idiotic as broadcasting ourselves to extraterrestrials we might as well make the attempt to find out where they live in order to destroy them if necessary.
2) What are your views on the project?
A: A good first step on the road to self-defence and preservation of the human race, see the answer to question 1.
3) Any suggestions?
A: Yes, if you haven't already? Develop closer relations with N.O.R.A.D. http://www.norad.mil/
