Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Draven's thoughts about SETI...

"Why do I run seti? That's a tough one :)!

To be sincere I hope there is life on other planets or somewhere out there, because "It will be a outhaul waste of space!" (unknown), I read that some were and I thing it's suitable for this case. As a great bonus there is my curiosity and the idea of doing something together with my
friends, in some way it has brought us closer, due the grate distance that separates us :(.

Not existing life in some other places except Earth would make us fell lonely and that is why we are seeking it in such a "desperate" way, I think that some day we would be able to travel to distant places, far more than we ever imagined and most of them will be seeking extra
terrestrial life, even if it's only one living cell, I think it was worth the time spent.

Idle CPU time is nothing to lose, I run seti@home on my home computer and at work. And doing something useful and challenging with it, I think, it's a great idea, because in the end there is a challenge: who will be the first to find something, who has analyzed a larger amount of data, what's your rank, etc.

In the end I leave you my last thoughts: KEEP ON THE GOOD WORK!"

Vlad's thoughts about SETI...

"Personally, as a SF fan, I still have doubts about ET life. So I enjoy taking part in this project. Maybe we'll find something, maybe not. If we succeed in not destroying ourselves and / or our planet, we might have a chance to prove Them we are not stupid, after all... The benefits of descovering ET life might be impossible to describe. As well as the dangers.

As I recall, such a beacon has been already sent. By a Pioneer probe. Or am I wrong?

I like graphics in Seti@Home, I like to be up in the Romania's top and... I want to help by providing idle CPU time.

Suggestions? Maybe sometimes responding to mail inquiries would be nice. But, hey, I know there are mostly volunteers on the project so... keep up the good work."
