Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It think it is mathamatically impossible for us to be alone. It is estimated that there are about 30 billion earth like planets in our galaxy and each might have life of sorts.
I have had a keen interest in Extraterrestrial life since I observed strange lights in a small country town 20 years ago.

The configuration of the lights and speed made it virtually impossible to be of this planet, so what was it?

Will we get a calling from space?
I"m not sure....

But we have to think about the following, even at 300,000
km/second it will take us approximately 4 years and 4 months to reach Alpha Centauri, our nearest neighbouring star. Sirius will take 8 years and 8 months. It will take a 150,000 years to go across our galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy is 2 million years away.
