Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Why do I run SETI@home?
It's a waste of computing power not to, no matter the range, if that power is just sitting idly. I believe extraterrestrial life exists. It's just a matter of when and how humans will discover it. Our understanding of ourselves, our world and the universe and our place in it, will be greatly challenged and changed by such discovery. The idea of God, religion and science will dramatically be altered.
What are your views about the project?
I believe the chance of meeting someone or something extraterrestrial is close to nil. Maybe alien intelligence could have graduated from radio signals millions of years ago and now communicate through some telepathic waves unknown to us. That is why we don't hear any radio signals from them, which explains the lack of contact. Or maybe we're all there is in this universe. |
