Profile: Rob

Personal background
I'm rapidly becoming what 10 years ago I would have thought of as an "old man".
In the past 18 months I've gotten married, had a daughter and bought a Volvo...
Still, I'm enjoying life tremendously so what do I care what anyone else thinks?
By the way, the photo is of my daughter, she's yawning, this was taken just after I had described to her the principles behind the SETI project - typical youngster, no stamina for the bigger picture.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think that there is life "out there", probably within our solar system too (Europa being the best candidate).
The ideals of the SETI project though are intelligent life and unless it is possible to break the light-speed barrier I don't think we'll ever have any meaningful contact.
