Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't just think that extra terrestrial life exists, I know they do, it is just impossible for our lonely small planet to be the only one in the universe with life on it.

I don't know when or how, I just believe that when the time and technology is right we will either make it to them, or they will make it to us.

benefits would be that we make new friends, and possibly learn how to better ourselves as a planet,

dangers could be that someone doesn't really want to be found or bothered and it upsets their life as they know it, I don't belive that other lifeforms just go around trying to find people to blow up.

Yes I do belive we should transmit a beacon because if we don't noone might ever know we exist, and they may be doing the same thing so they can find new life too. as far as what to send, I think we should send something that they would be able to decode so they can figure out our language, repeat the main, then send small codes for them to try to translate from for the main, but make it simple so if someone does hear and try they can figure out the language.

I believe that even though my contribution is small it could make a huge difference in the end.

I have watched seti for a while and I think that it is a wonderful project.
