Personal background
Greetings earthlings... I am 41 years old, married to Karen and have a daughter Annabel. I have worked my whole life in the Motor Trade and am currently employed as a General Manager of a Truck Dealership in the UK.
Life is my hobby, and I try to enjoy it when I get the time.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Sure life exists off this rock. How far ahead, or behind they are, who knows? I hope we will discover something in my lifetime. I suspect it'll give world leaders another excuse to avoid home issues and huge resources will be wasted. When we know were not alone, the creationists will just say, 'well, GOD must have created them too.'
Our beacon has been running for years, should we make a specific tight beacon - create our own pulsar signal? Not unless we can do it for $99 and get the bits from my local hardware store. I think a review of the todays news would give everybeing a good idea of what to expect.
SETI@home is a fantastic model for cooperation across the world. It's a creative solution to a problem utilising wasted resources.
