Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think one would be insane to dedicate so much computer time to this inspired project without believing in the possibility, even the likelihood, of sentient extraterrestrial life. Will we discover evidence of such in my lifetime? Probably not: it's an awfully big (and expanding) universe. But there's always a chance. Anyhow, it's better (and cheaper) than playing the Lotto.
