Personal background
Hmm. let's see.
I'm a mid danish student, with a technical highscool deplom, or what u might call it.
I'm currently working as a IT consulent for a firm called MediCult.
I got my intrests in computers (mostly networking) by playing with my friends in the old dos days, and gathering information and know-how by solving relevent problems we had. (And there was alot in thouse days).

I also like (sience) ficksion, stuff like Warhammer 40.000, StarTrek and mindbending stragegy films/games.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) hmm. here in denmark, not mutch will happen as a result. No doubt it will hit the news and everyone of our 4 newspapers hedlines. But life will go on. My eyes will be watching the US reaction... no doubt that all the cult-like fiction fans will go into drewling shock.
2) yes we should. The data we should transmit, is the possision of where to, and how to contact us, if they wish. Pehaps by providing coordinats for a satelite in orbit around mars or something, so that they wouldnt know our real possistion. They are potensial dangerus.
3) to put my computer to good use. I have a (sometimes irritating) desire to please/be polite... prop. therefor.
All u'r doing is just fine. Keep up the good work.

ps, I dont think u should be sponsered by the US goverment. People look after their intrests, the goverment is ment to look after the puplics intrests and someone might deside, that ET's isn't in the publics intrests... for any number of reasons.
