Personal background
Hi -

My name is Carla. I am married with 3 little boys (ages 5, 7, 9). My husband, Bill, and I have always been interested in space and all things space related. We live close to Kennedy Space Center and always get up to see the launches from our back yard, even in the wee hours of the morning.

We adore anything Star Trek, and have named our 3 sons after Star Trek Enterprise Captains. The oldest is 6 year old Jean-Luc. Next is 4 year old (Anton) Kirk. And finally, 2 year old Christopher (you have to REALLY be a fan to get this one!). The attached picture shows the 3 boys after riding Splash Mountain at Disney World.

I am currently a database consultant, but in my prior endeavors, I have spent most of my career in the space business. I spent 10 years in the Air Force aquiring satellite command and control ground systems. Then, I worked as a civilian for 5 years on the Eastern Launch Range as a software engineer. After that was 1.5 years at Kennedy Space Center. As a database consultant recently, my main client is involved with military Modeling and Simulation, another very exciting field.

As long as you're learning, you're living.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because it seems to be a worthwile project to donate my unused computer time to. I like the idea of being part of the world's largest supercomputer. The SETI@home encourages me to continue to learn more about all the ins and outs of radio astronomy, space, and continue the search for knowledge. Hopefully, the colorful graphics will also inspire interest from my sons to learn more about space and science.
