Personal background
I live in Melbourne, Australia.

I am running seti@home on 1 x celeron 2.2, 1 x celeron 2.4, 1 x athlon 2000 and 1 x athlon 2400. the athlons are kicking some serious Intel butts.

each of the celerons are crunching 3 x WU a day, the athlon 2000 is crunching 5 x WU a day and the athlon 2400 is crunching 6 x WU a day. In the next year I intend to bring another 4 or 5 athlons online.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Question: Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

Answer: yes i believe ET does exist, I think the human race needs to clean up it's act first, I believe any self respecting ET would'nt associate with a planet full of thugs.

Question: Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

Answer: it's a bit late for that, we have been sending signals for years.

Question: Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

Answer: I run seti@home because I believe it to be a worthwhile project, anything or anyone that brings people together from all over the planet to participate in a worwhile cause for the common good is doing better than most. I think the Seti@home project is a clear example of the proverb " many hands make light work".

I would join the planetary Soc. but because I don't live in the United States I have to pay more, so I won't bother joining them.
