Personal background
I am a Commerce student at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am a big fan of all-things-scientific, and I am persuing my degree in Computer Information Systems with the hopes of finding work with the Canadian Space Agency in the future. I am also considering returning to university after I graduate to gain a second degree, possibly in Astronomy. I am endlessly fascinated with our little corner of the galaxy, and all that is contained within it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists throughout the Universe. The sheer vastness of space, along with the prospect that life can develop along lines other than our own, makes the existance of alien life more fact than fiction. I think humans should take an active approach to the exploration of our galaxy, and I am confident that we have the ability to overcome any hurdles we may encounter (provided we can solve our problems at home first). I am honoured to be a part of this project, because even if we don't find traces of intelligent life, we are at least continuously working to expand our knowledge of the Universe.
