Profile: James Brooks

Personal background
I run technology companies designed to improve the efficiency of manufacturing and transportation systems by improving their production lines, order management and routing systems. Because my companies use various types of ASP technology we have also made it very affordable to small companies.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do beleive e.t. life exists on other planets. We would be ignorant to think that humans were the only intelligent life in the entire galaxy. What I don't know is how advanced other civilizations might be.
Should we ever expect to contact other civilizations we must be transmitting 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I don't think it matters what we send so long as it is obviously intelligent. The simpler the better, but intelligent. Most of the things I have discovered in my life have been by chance, the key is in paying attention. The SETI@home project is a brilliant use of resources, not only in computing power but in bringing more people to the job of watching.
