Profile: Martin Hammond

Personal background
Hi there
My name is Martin Hammond and I live in Staffordshire in the United Kingdom.
I'm 40yrs young single and still living at home with my parents.
My hobbies and interests are messing about with computers and server which I own both, I run one server at the moment purely as a games server running Unreal Tournament and I also run 3 more computers in the house hold.

I enjoy walking (living in the countryside you get to do a lot of that) mountain biking and messing about with both my trucks both of them are Austin Freight Rovers one of them a 22yr old model (ex Buzby) and the other a mere 10yr old model.

I have two other restoration projects on the go as well one is a very old BSA Dandy moped off which there were only 75 made in the world and the other project is a kit car called a Jago Geep at the moment it's having a bigger engine and box fitted.

I enjoy spending alot of time on the interent generally surfing around but spend alot of time on Ebay both buying and selling.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The main reason I run the Seti project is when it first came out under the classic version which I still think is far better both in screensaver looks and ease of use than boince I felt like I was doing something special.

So the project is worth it's while as we cannot be the only form of life in space but with limited means of communicating with other beings I suppose we can only try and find there beacon in space.

My views on Seti well my main view is really on boince as a screensaver as I'm a firm beliver in the classic version of Seti. No matter what happens I still keep coming back to the Seti project dispite really hating boince because I do feel that Seti is a worth while project.

Everyone will have there main views on boince and there individual screensaver projects but we should have the choice on what screensaver options we have instead of being told if you want to be part of this project then you have to have this crap.

My views will not change about boince but I will always be part of Seti as I've been with it more or less since it started and have enjoyed being a big part of a world wide family wh have an intrest in space as a whole.
