As for myself I earn a crust as a GKN Chep pallet controller for a national distribution firm.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? Of course! What gives us the right to assume that we are the only ones inhabiting this universe?
.....how will humans discover it? Quite possibly by accident either on a scheduled space mission or by someone choosing the right frequency to listen to!
What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery? Although we may discover life exsists elsewhere I doubt that our present level of advancement would be of interest to any extraterrestrial sentient being.
Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send? We have been doing this since the advent of the wireless......if extra-terrestrials don't know of our exsistance now I doubt they ever will!
