Personal background
Hi Y'all,
I live in Cincinnati, Ohio.

My two biggest hobbies are gardening and playing computer games. It is expensive to keep up with the updates and upgrades just to play the latest and greatest computer game. But it also means that I have plenty of computing power to share with projects such as seti@home.

I LOVE German Shepherd dogs! They are the cutest, most intelligent, most loyal, most brave of all dogs!!!! And, did I mention they are cute and handsome??
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Given the ASTRONOMICAL amount of stars and planets that there are in the Milky Way (not to mention other galaxies!), there's got to be life someplace other than just Earth. Now, a lot of people tend to think that extraterrestrials must be more advanced than we are; but this may not be necessarily true... who is to say that we are not one of the most advanced??? We just don't know and we don't have enough data to think either way.

BUT! It is our duty as a sentient and social species to try and find others out there. And if not for duty, then just because we are a very curious bunch.

There are two reasons why I run seti@home. One, my life is computers, and I just need to put every single one of them to good use; the other reason is that I want to see true and pure science done just for the sake of knowing. Since the very start of the project I have always believed in seti@home as a true scientific effort to find any evidence of intelligent life in the universe; it is not about finding UFOs landing in corn fields, little green men, or stuff like that.

Will we ever find others? I believe so, but I don't expect it to happen tomorrow, or the day after that, or the day after-after-after that. We need to keep looking and they say that he who seeks finds.
My suggestion is this: Keep it running! The day we shut this off is the day that we can rest assured we are NOT going to find anything.
