Personal background
I am a 21 year-old network administrator at the Aerospace Development Center in Jacksonville, AL. I love working with computers and fixing small computer problems. I built my computer from scratch just to play a crazy game called Everquest (and to crunch out seti@home units faster!). I am very interested in finding other civilizations or at least proving we are alone so we can hurry up and colonize other planets and such! It amazes me when I go to www.spaceflightnow.com and see stories about the Marshal center in Huntsville, AL working on anti-matter engines and other things we see as science fiction. I also love gadgets and I keep up with all the latest at the www.news.com personal technology section. I am also a system administrator at ADC as well. I am currently getting to know Unix as well as Windows. I recommend www.ugu.com for all your Unix needs!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think we should make a probe that sends radio in every direction at once like a sphere that has all of our info encoded in it. Such as our average height and weight and our math and science. I think we will either find life in the form of bugs, slugs, amoeba, etc. or at least some plants. I think if there are other primate-like lifeforms out there, they wouldn't be as advanced as we are. We should never stop looking however, be it in the form of probes or exploration ourselves.
