Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think other life exists in the universe. We may not even recognize it for life when or if we do find it. How egotistical of us to assume that life will be what we know and are familiar with.

There is also that saying, "If you can imagine it, it has alraedy been done."

If we transmit a beacon for others to find, there is always the possibility of getting what we don't want.....attention. Be careful what you wish for.....
Again, how foolish of us to assume that if we find life it will be benevolent towards us.

I run SETI@home becuase I'd like to find the one signal that could be something from another intelligence. Not sure I want to meet them face to face.

I'd like to have the chance to view and try to interpret their forms of entertainment, if any exist. And again, that goes back to our being able to recognize it.
How do we know that other life forms can interpret our satellite transmissions?
