Personal background
I live in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. I've always been fascinated by astronomy and science. I have an interest in computers, electronics, and anything "techy." I have a job in video production, but my hobbies include any of the above, plus science fiction, music, art, history, and more.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe extraterrestrial life exists - and it will take a cooperative effort to find it. If found, the benefits of such a find can be endless - it could change our world and society on a planetary scale.

I think humans should send out some sort of beacon or message so that others can see that we're here... Sort of like a "follow up" to the ones used on the Voyager series of satelites. We should send out some sort of message telling them who we are, and what we are about.... include art, music, our scientific discoveries... Include information on our planet and climate. Anything that tells them who and what we are on a global scale.

I run SETA@home and I have been since 1999. I think it's a great idea that gets everyone involved around the world. I would be cool if they allowed a way for you to test multiple packets on multiple computers, making it possible to test more information.
