Personal background
I have always been fascinated by the propsect of ET.

In fact, when I was about 11 and just before Sputnik was launched, I observed and heard a UFO. My sister who was indoors at the time asked me what 'that noise' was! This was in a small copper-mining town called Bancroft in Northern Rhodesia (now known as Chililabomwe, Zambia).

I was also interested in Jodrell Bank and declered my intention to work there. That never came to past but the interest in radio telescopes, etc. has not diminished.

So I'm pleased, at long last, to be able to contribute to the research.

I now live happily in New Zealand.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes - see my comments about the UFO in my profile.
2. Absolutely - let's be proactive. Send whatever the boffins reckon will be of value to what civilisation receives the messages.
3. See my comments above - always been fascinated. I think it's a great project and brilliant use of idle CPU time. Suggestions? Make the data units smaller so they don't take so long to complete.
