Profile: S@NL Jop

Personal background
Born on April 19 1960 in the beautifull city of Amsterdam. Married, one daugther.

During the week I spent most of my time behind a computer. In the weekends I love to spent time at windmills as a compensation. At the moment I'm one of the 800 qualified windmill operators in the Netherlands, trying to keep our last 1000 windmills running.

I love to read Fantasy, listen to Blues while drinking a French wine from my own cellar.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm convinced extraterrestrial live exists. I'm aware that the change that live spontaniously comes to existence is unbelievely small. However, as I'm led to believe that the amount of planets in the universe is never ending it's a simple mathematical equation to prove live exists.

I joined the Seti@home project because I think it is a wonderfull idea to have such a large group of institutes and individuals from all over the world join together in one project. This whitout a large organisation to promote and coordinate the whole thing. A wonderfull idea!

However I do not believe we will find intelligent live. Any really intelligent liveform will make sure we will never find them.
