Personal background
Today i work as an IT-consultant. I have always been fascinated by the question "are we alone?". I'm sure we're not ;-)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, i believe we already has discovered that, but it will still be a while before this knowledge is released to the public.

If i'm wrong and the fact is that we do not have discovered anything yet, i believe goverenment of today are to self centered and hungry for power to handle the situation properly, just look at the way our planet is treated. If possible extraterrestial contact would be possible, i believe there would be a race to gather knowledge not for everybodies benefit but only for gaining local benefits. On the other hand, if we were to handle the situation with a humble mind - non egoistic it could be a great opportunity for mankind, but because economic growth and power are celibrated today, this approach is barely utopia today.... I am an optimist, but with a critic and realistic view of todays society...

2.If we believe all extra terrestial are kind - send message that we are in great need of help to overcome our hysterical energy-problem.
If we believe there might be equal variation in extraterrestial behavior as man, we should probably keep silent for another century....

3.It's nice to be part of a big enthusiastic projekt with an interesting goal..
