Personal background
Floridian, world traveler for 14 years while in the Marine Corps. Veteran during the Beirut Bombing, Grenada, Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Network and data security consultant for Fortune 10 Company. I am a Grandson, Son, Father and Grandfather. Way too young to be a Grandfather, but love being a part of SETI.

Currently living in Jacksonville, FL and have cranked out over 7,000 SETI units on one computer.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I guess we need to develop warp technology before we will be worthy of being met.

2. Not a big fan of beaming information blindly into space. Don't wave at the tiger until you are sure he has no teeth.

3. New technology is great, come up with a program where people getting rid of outdated computers can donate to regional SETI volunteer sites computers to run SETI or other such programs for data crunching. Make it tax deductible and you have made it beneficial even to the greedy who don't care about the project.
