Personal background
I live (40km EAST of) Los Angeles, California - U.S.A.

Of course, Astronomy and computers are my hobbies ... but I also like to

build electronic things - and do a little telescope making.

My other hobby is making web pages ...

http://tie.jpl.nasa.gov/tie/index.html

Photography is another hobby - (had to learn this, for astrophotography) ;-)

No ccd here ;-)

I'm a certified welder, I work for Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Dragon Valves, Inc.

I build spacecraft proto-types, as a full time position --- Dragon Valves is part-time work

That's *MY* Mars rover up there, working! (Spirit and Opportunity)

aka: MER 1 and MER 2

I am also a Linux user ;-)

S.u.S.E. - since - release 6.1 (a long time ago)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I really believe extraterrestrial life exists .... you really think we are the

ONLY ones here?

If you think so, then you might also agree on the fact that the Earth is flat.

WOW ..........

Should we transmit a "beacon" ? Sure ! But .... who will pay for this?

And why? The general public isn't up to this type of spending tax dollars .....

I think we need to educate the public more..... too bad, in so many countries ...

science is NOT being taught.

Why do I run Seti ? I'll ask you ... why not? My machine is on all the time ....

I have battery back-up power supply .... and Linux doesn't even slow down

If I can't see the CPU useage - who cares?

Bet, Seti people wished their were more people like me ......

laughing

Any suggestions? --- YES ! Don't stop searching! PLEASE ! Don't give up!

The day you stop searching, is the day someone is going to get a signal

Would I donate money to this org? "Seti" ....... sure! Where do I send the money ?

Thanks guys .... PLEASE keep this project alive ...... I'm havin' fun, and I hope others are too!
