| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

STATEMENT:
We, the Decadent Poets' Society, hereby officially state that we support SETI@Home as a means to achieving our ultimate goal: That we within the next 650 earth-years will be able to sit in, or outside of, a bar on a planet orbiting the dual star Epsilon Eridriani, sipping hyper-blue drinks and watching the twin suns set on the horizon.
It is for this purpose only that we use our computer for this project. We also, of course, count blindly on nanotechnology to provide the medical breakthrough that will give us the lifespan needed to be able to achieve our goal. Should we not be provided with said medical breakthrough we will be mightily enraged an put the blame entirely on the Nobel Prize Commity of Sweden. Should there not open a bar on said planet in the dual star system of Epsilon Eridriani within the next 650 years, or if said bar should open but does not serve hyper-blue drinks, we will be mightily enraged and put the blame entirely on the SETI@home crew. |
