Personal background
Hi !

I have always been interested in E.T. since I was a child. Now I am 35(!) and
the search goes on...
Four years ago I began studying the Mayas and made a one month trip to Mexico
and discovered how many Ufos are seen there and how the Mayas knew astronomy
and matemathics and counting the time in an advanced way.
I think all these things are related and that ancient civilizations knew that
we are not alone...
I keep on wondering why governments keep this secret within their agencies ?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Sure that I think that ET life exists and I think in many forms, some similar to
us, some very different.
I think some races know that we exist, but until we can't be friend here on
Earth, until human races don't come together in peace, I think these races
won't show up.
This is why they keep on visiting us without saying "Hey, we are here. Nice
to meet you".
We are not ready for that. I can imagine how fear and panic would spread in that
day.
We fear the unkown. Always.
As for dangers and benefits... The danger would be if those civilizations are
bad... On the other hand, if they have the technology to use cosmic energy I
can't see a reason why they would be bad to us... To have what ?
The benefits would be maybe a new way of thinking for the human genre, that
they could teach us.

Transmitting a beacon could be a two sided coin: it could reach bad races which
would be "called" here, or attract good races as well..
Who knows.
I'd try, anyway !

I run SETI@home to help the org sort out all those signals travelling through
our Universe !
