Originally from British Columbia, I am now living and working in Ontario, Canada. I am a geotechnical engineer with an keen interest in amateur astronomy and computers. I have been running Seti@home for several years. It is great to be a part of this ambitious experiment.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think that it is very likely that ET life exists, but I'm not sure if we humans will find it in the time available.
2. It would be better to find ET life than to be found by it. Let's forget the beacon and put the money into searching!
3. I run SETI@home because I believe in the motto "nothing ventured nothing gained". Perhaps the experiment will find other interesting discoveries.
