Personal background
Hi! I'm a 20 years old male student at KFUPM university in Saudi Arabia. I live in the Eastern Province. I'm currently a Sophomore and my major is Computer Science. Astronomy is my first hobby since i was a kid. I taught myself some of the basics of amateur Astronomy and can cravingly now enjoy finding my way between the planets, bright Nebulae, star clusters and stars with my 8-inches telescope when I get the time. I intend to take some courses in Astronomy after finishing my current course and hugely hope to get the chance one day to work at some observatory.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
YES I do believe there're creatures out there because we ARE already some kind of creatures living out there in some galaxy called the Milky Way on a peculiar planet called Earth(just instinctly)Ain't I right?. I don't believe that there would be any danger if we or they discover the other. I think they would be just stunned like us to discover they're not alone. We can't however assert that its completely safe especially if it's not the first time for them to discover extraterrestrial life. If it's allowed for other worlds to communicate with each other then I greatly hope it happens before I die so I could die contentedly. If we're to see Ets out there maybe it's when we manage to travel to other solar systems through some type of new power...graity acceleration, plasma or some kind of revolutionary way of transporting. However, if it happened that one discover another, we could still I think just communicate with them by transmiting data beacons so both of us benift from the other cultures. It could be the greatest transaction ever made to exchange scientific data. It would also be a great benifit for Religion and Belief. The reason why I'm participating is the instinct hankering and craving for knowledge that every human has.
