Personal background
I'm 63 and retired and live in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Following in the footsteps of my Master Electrician grandfather, I grew up interested in all things electric and eventually, electronic.

Late '70s became an industrial electrician in a consumer products factory.

In 1982, learned to program in BASIC on a Timex Sinclair 1000 with 16KB Memory Expansion.

By 1986 I was building and selling IBM Clones, supporting computer users, and writing programs in MASM and QuickBasic.

When I first read about it in Scentific American, started runnning SETI@HOME in May of 1999 and been an excited participant ever since.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I hope to be participating in the process that finds the first undeniable proof that we are not alone. The universe is way too large and too old for us to be the only inhabitants.
