Profile: The Glowing Blob

Personal background
I am a 53 year nuclear scumbag (so I'm told) who has lived in Cary, NC for the past 20 years. I grew up in Memphis and completed my formal education in chemistry at Virginia Tech in Blackburg, VA. I've worked in one part or other of the nuclear industry ever since.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Given the diversity of life on our one little planet and immense size of the universe, other intelligent life must exist. Whether we ever discover it, or it discovers us, seems less likely. If intelligent life shows up on our doorstep, it will either be very, very good or very, very bad. It is hard not to think about the arrival for Europeans in the New World.
