Personal background
Hi I'm origianlly from Swindon and now live in Devon. I was known as David Lavelle when I went to St Joseph's school. I belive there is life out there, a massive amount but we just didn't find it yet. We are too primitive in evolution yet.

I am a confirmed Atheist and struggle to understand what existed before the big bang, but then is the big bang a fact that will someday be disproved.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
we will one day discover that life exists outside of planet earth but we will not discover it for some centuries, we are still very primitive compared to other life.

Most people already expect that there is life out there and the "shock" of having it confirmed will be slight, unless 'they' decide to invade which is highly unlikely as any life that has the ability to travel space will have evolved far beyond the human need to conquer and own people and things.

There is no need tow worry about sending a beacon as 'they' will find us when we become significant enough. If we do send a beacon no information is necessary as simply a carrier wave would indicate intelligence of some degree.

I run Seti as I belive it a worthwhile project but I doubt that anyone will actually find any evidence of extra terrestrial life through this project, but we must try.

Keep it up guys and gals, who knows someone might hit the jackpot.
