Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, I definately feel that they do exist. Also, probabilities by themself predicts the likelyhood of extraterrestrial life.

2. Unknown.. I think we put so much noise out there that a becon would not hurt. We are already yelling out there that we are here. The thing is that we've been discovered before we started making noise. To make powerful noise is just going to reach out further but will not enhance the response times whatsoever. What Information should we send. Basic mathmatics considering that language will be totally different in concept perhaps from what we know now. Our beacon may just be noise unless we send it in a format which might be universal in nature. How do we really embed real information in such a basic structure?

3. I run SETI@home because I'm intrigued by the concept of using multiple systems to number crunch this vast amount of data. I'm also waiting for the day that we truly catch up with the observatory's data. Then, it's to the next one to catch it up too. Can we do both and still be good enough to catch the proper signals and analize them properly. I bet we can.
