Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Does Life Exist?
Yes, Life Exists on other Planets.
Perhaps Intelligent life Exists on other Planets.

No, They have not visited us in the past.
No, They are not currently Visiting us.
No, They are not drawing Crop Circles.
No, They did not Kidnap Flight 19.
No, They do not like to Anal Probe people
from Mississippi.

First Life contact? When and If we reach the Stars our
First Contact will be with non intelligent life forms.
If we spread out far enough, we might find intelligent life out there.

Benefits or Dangers? We can not get along with ourselves. If there are
Intelligent lifeforms out there they will probably treat us as
some form of Cancer spreading among the stars. Peacefull Co-Existance is a
very small possibility.

2. Transmit a Beacon? Odds of reception are very small. But transmitting a beacon is a sign of Hope so perhaps it will do more good here on Earth than
as some form of Communication.

3. Why I run SETI@home?
Multiple Workstations under my domain have nothing to
do if I am not actively working on a board. Since
they are available it is better to contribute something than
to do nothing at all.
