I'm a former member of the BMSC and have previously been secretary of the club and was president for a short time. I now live at Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast.
I'm still involved in rallying (a little bit) and help out with servicing Karl Willetts car.
I want to be the first to discover alien intelligence, so that I can choose the name - maybe something like Microsoft or the Borg.
Currently I have an AMD Athlon 1600 dedicated to SETI and an AMD XP 3000 that runs SETI during idle time. Both machines run the command line SETI program with Seti Spy and Seti Driver. The 1600 averages 4.3 hours per work unit and the 3000 about 2.25 hours.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
