Personal background
Kent, WA I work at PaymentOnline.com doing web development using Interchange (http://www.icdevgroup.org/). I love computers, and I've been into SETI@home since it first came out, I haven't had SETI@home on my computer in a couple years though. ;)

I love to program, and I'm a video game guru as well. I've recently purchased a X-Box and I'm reaching Critical Mass as far as nerdiness goes! :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life exists, and I think that we WILL find it, in some form or another its plain egotistical to believe that we are the only life in the entire universe that has learned how to use things like radio waves or other means of communication.

I think theres only one problem with the whole SETI program, and its that if there are highly advanced cultures of Aliens in the universe, what reason would they have to communicate via such a slow and basically unviable means such as radio waves? I hope I'm wrong and that there is some kind of blip on the SETI radar that shows there have been atleast "attempts" to reach us from other worlds. I imagine if we find any kinds of patterns in Radio Waves I hope its from some kind of alien race that has a means to travel here, otherwise, whats the point?? :)

I run Seti@home for the main reason that my computer has millions upon millions of wasted hours and even years of processor power, so why not put it to use somewhere, its not hurting me, and its helping a good cause. Plus whats not to like about saying "Hey my computer is looking for alien life forms in other worlds, whats yours doing?".
