| Personal background |
| Well, I am a quiet, cooperative and polite guy from germany. My interests are placed in Computers, Energys and the unknown in common. I am now 17 years old still single (who wants to know that?) and sometimes I am a real comedian. So if you did not have anything to laugh in the last days, you can chat with me and I am sure you'll be surprised about my direction and range of thinking. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. Well, if I wouldn't believe in it, would I write this? I think, humans won't discover our 'neighbours' but the SETI program might be able to lead them to us. But if we would discover them, I think we will surely have to learn many things, before we'll be able to communicate with them. Possible benefits? Well...technology, environmental help, starships...perhaps some more. Possible dangers? War with them or they would simply make us extinct by some biological weapon or an alien virus.
2. Yes, we should send such a beacon, but we must be very careful, otherwise...well, look above. But on the other side, we can hope, that they are friendly with us. The information...well, perhaps about our society, our technical stand and how we look in common. And the location of the earth of course.
3. Ok, you got me :) But as I said before, I am interested in the unknown and trying to solve one of the biggest puzzles the nature gave us, gives my doings a meaning. My view about it? Just keep it up, or we'll never know. Suggestions? You can't tell me, that this software already analysis all the data we can record. Just improve it, until we can decode all the data. Good luck. |
