My husband works in the Post Office and our son is a graphic artist.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I do believe extraterrestrial life exists. It seems obvious if you look at how life finds a way of coming into being in the most extreme conditions even on our own planet. Whether there are life forms who bear any resemblance to human beings is questionable, and whether it would be able to travel through time and space is also a question few people, if any, can answer at the moment.
The discovery of any life forms would be thrilling, but, obviously, treated with extreme caution if brought back to earth because of the effect it could have upon our own life forms.
Yes, I do think we should put up a beacon. Not sure how much to give away concerning our precise position and state of being.. other intelligent life forms may not be friendly so a certain amount of caution should be exercised.
I have always been interested in space research and cannot think of a better way of putting my computer to use when not being used by me or Ray. I think it's a splendid effort and a brilliant idea, but should be advertised more and then you might get even more people joining it. All schools should belong to it all over the world, and the children should be kept up to date with what is going on on your web site. It should stimulate discussions and their interest for the rest of their lives.
