Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
An IT professional who has always been fascinated with space.

1. With the discovery black smokers and the life that flourishes they’re at the bottom of the ocean. It is possible to see how the formula used by scientists to determine the existence of life out there allows life to exist elsewhere. So yes I think extraterrestrial life exists.

2. Since our knowledge of communication is still in it's infancy we may be better served to spend the big money on science where results can be achieved sooner. This would encourage more interest in all aspects of space research and indirectly assist projects like SETI.

3. I always thought that distributed processing was a good idea. I am glad to see that such a time intensive task as SETI has been used to prove the theory.
