Personal background
I'm a senior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and full time Rocket Scientist. Yes that's right I'm a real live rocket scientist! I have been working at or for NASA since my freshman year at RPI, am currently and start a permanent position here at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton VA in January.
As an avid NASA and Soccer freak I fit right in and last summer (2001) was on our center's Championship winning soccer team! While at school finishing my dual degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Music, I'm pretty involved being a part of three varisty sports teams: Womens' Basketball, Womens' Soccer, and Mens' Soccer. Yes that's right I'm a female on the Mens' team. Yea for all the managers out there! We're the definition of unsung hero!
Aspirations for the future? Definite Astronaut want-to-be! But it that falls thru I think I could settle for being a dragon rider in the skies of Pern!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Nothing can beat the quote from Carl Sagen's book Contact: if there's no life out there "it's an aweful waste of space!" Nothing else needs to be said.
