Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
How and when did you become interested in SETI@home?

Downloaded SETI@home only days after it was released to the general public after seeing an article in SKY and TELESCOPE magazine. Since August 2000 have been running SETI@home around 18 hours a day, or more.

Why do you run SETI@home?

SETI is a valid scientific search, and it gives myself, and anyone else for that matter, a chance to contribute to the search for ET. Why let your computer sit around for hours on end doing nothing but pushing semi-meaningless 0's and 1's and burning electrons for nothing, when you could actually be pushing around SETI@home 0's and 1's and possible discover something!!

Thoughts about ETI.

I hope that their is ETI, because it is very hard to believe that in this infinite universe that we are the only living and sentient beings in existence. I believe we are currently being visited by aliens from other planets, some perhaps only Hundreds and some maybe Millions of years more advanced then we are so they can see what they were once like. I still haven't decided if a project like SETI@home will ever discover alien life, maybe if they are in our general area of the solar system and have a similar technological age, but any other advanced life could have forms of communication that we haven't even dreamed of. If we ever have a planned contact with alien life, like Close Encounters, I don't believe it will be in my lifetime, the thought of which saddens me, and I don't believe they will be hostile. I am sure thier is some sort of intelligence like Q from Star Trek, (GOD if you want to call it that), that watches over the Universe. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER !!
