Profile: Lance Leopold

Personal background
I'm a 49 year old musician, currently living in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
I have two grown children; Kalina and Lazarus. I've always looked foward to the
idea of "first contact", and know this situation is a "when", and not an "if".
I write music, and perform locally a a trio-( you can sample my music at:
www.littlejackandfriends.com ). I look foward to the day when the signal is
recognized, and we can begin our lives as part of the greater cosmos.
I can imagine no greater event in the enrtire history-( or herstory )-of humankind.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As someone once remarked; "If there is no life out there,
it would sure be an awful waste of space" I support the effort
to locate other intelligent life and believe that Seti may be one
of the ways that this story unfolds.
I don't think that we need put a "beacon" out-as our existence reveals
itself to the eye, and to the cosmos, in the same way we now seek
proof of others; ie radio/TV waves, artificial satellites, etc.
I cannot say if this program-( Set@home)-will be the way other life is revealed-but,
as my Mother always said-"It couldn't hurt". The search continues, and is
refined over and over again; perhaps mandlebrot sets are the clue, as a mathematical
constant. I don't know...and therein lies the mystery and adventure of this project
