Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe there is an ET somewhere in this huge space. And I think the discovery of those aliens is just matter of time. Human will benefits a great deal from those aliens. For example, we can do business with these aliens and have technology exchanged.
Should we transmit a beacon for others to find?
Since our present technology is not advanced enough to build a space shuttle for long term exploration, we should send the beacon to outer space. And I believe the beacon should carry basic elements of periodic table and detail about the basic elements on earth.
Why do I run SETI@home?
Well, since i don't usually shut down my computer, i figure that my CPU could be at better use while i am away.
What are my views about the project?
This project brings all people together from different corners of the world to participate the discovery of ET. I believe the project is fantastic. Also i feel good to be part of something great.
