Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life exists. Count on it. Unfortunately, in a 4 dimensional way
of thinking, the odds of us discovering extraterrestrial intelligence without exploration are virtually
nil. However, in the extreme possibility that others are trying to make contact,
we should at least be listening.

The chance that sentient life exists and is trying to make contact with other civilizations
is remote compared to microbiotic life existing in an extraterrestrial form.
Therefore, its more likely we'll find it, and the consequences are much easier to
deal with.

I anticipate that Earth will discover extraterrestrial life without
the aid of SETI or setiathome within the next 100 years. The ramifications of this
discovery will be an increased knowledge of how the universe works, for better or
for worse.
