Personal background
Living in Seattle I work for the Siemens Corporation. At 35 I've done almost everything there is to do on this planet so I'm always looking for a new adventure.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. There almost has to be other life in the universe. There is no telling when we will discover other life, but we needed to start looking as soon as we could, we cant afford to not listen for a signal. If the other lifeform is hostile we cant hide, and if they are friendly, again, we cant afford not to listen for a signal.
2. Yes, we would simply like to communicate with other intelligent beings.
3. This is our first real attempt to hear any form of communication as crude as it is hopefully it will inspire others to help and figure other ways to look for communication paths.
