Personal background
My name is Todd E. and I reside in Salt Lake City, Utah. I currently process work units from SETI@HOME on an IBM 2460 punch card reader. A photograph of me browsing the internet on this machine is included. When not punching cards, my hobbies include counting, adding and subtracting, skateboarding, and being smooth with the ladies.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial civilizations certainly exist, and will one day give us the knowledge to cure baldness and harness the power of perpetual motion. Extraterrestrials will despise us because of our harmful attitude toward earthquakes.
Humans should send a beacon for others to find. It should transmit a desperate cry for help. It should say "This is a desperate cry for help. Great Heavenly God, please help us!"
This is the coolest project. I just hope it pays off, man. I hate to think that we all have wasted millions of years of computing time when we just could have looked for a cure for baldness all along.
