Personal background
I'm 34 years old and I'm origionally from Michigan, but now I live in Florida. I enjoy the sun and doing things like golfing and sailing. I'm a private pilot and ever since I was a young boy I've been fascinated with the idea of extraterrestrials.

I got a UFO book when I was about 8 shortly after a UFO flap in my community. The book had a chapter about the Betty and Barny Hill encounter. They had a drawing in the book of an Alien, resembling the typical Grey. I was never so freaked out in my entire life! Up until then I had never considered that aliens wouldnt look human. That began my lifelong curiosity with life and the potential of extraterrestrial life in its many forms.

Today I listen to the occasional Art Bell program, and I read a book or two to keep myself grounded in all the culture and lore thats developed around the subject of UFO's and aliens. Some of the material is very entertaining, and others are down right scarry if they are to be believed.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I'm pretty sure that ET does exist in one form or another. Just how sophistocated that life is, and where in the universe it exists is anyone's guess. The hard part of about making such a discovery will be what level of civilization we encounter, and how the interact with us. We are very young in the grand scheme of the universe, and will a highly evolved civilization even care that we exist enough to bother with visiting us, or communicating with us.

2) We are already transmitting all manner of radio waves, I'm sure our planet sounds to aliens like my car stero does to my neighbors.

3) I run SETI for many of the same reasons that I love science fiction. I'm fascinated by the question of our place in the universe, and I believe that it offers hope for the future.
